Massimo Romano

Massimo, background in law, is a Senior Adviser at RPPA Italy, where he brings his 30 years of experience in the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
He was Senior Executive Vice President, head of Regulatory and Corporate Strategy and member of the Executive Committee at Enel for nearly 10 years.
At Enel he also held the position of Vice President of the Supervisory Board of Slovenske Elektrarne and non-executive Director of Terna and many other companies of the group.
Massimo was also member of the board of IEFE, the energy department of Luigi Bocconi University, member of Confindustria General Council and Vice Chairman of Assoelettrica.
From 2007 to 2009, Massimo was CEO and General Manager of Sogin, the State-owned company responsible for decommissioning of Italian nuclear plants.
In 2010 he founded Partners4Energy, an advisory company which promoted and developed new investments in the market of renewable energy.
From 2012 to 2014 he was non-executive director and member of the executive committee at Idea Fimit Sgr, the first Italian real estate Sgr.
Between 2013 and 2016 he has been Senior Advisor for regulatory issues and member of the Advisory Board of 2i Rete Gas (the gas network of F2i, the second player in the Italian market).
Since 2020, he has been a director a DFC-Economics, an independent economic analysis company, which assists businesses and institutions on market regulation, industrial strategy, litigation, and big data analysis.
Currently, he serves as an independent member of the Board of Directors at Autostrade per l'Italia, one of Europe's leading concessionaries for the construction and management of toll motorways, where he is also a member of the Major Projects Steering Committee and president of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
