Sofia Villani
Research Executive, Brussels
Sofia Villani is a research executive in the Energy and Climate Practice at RPPA. Before joining RPPA, she worked at the NATO Defense College in the Middle East Department within the outreach and research cluster, focusing on critical geopolitical and strategic issues.
Sofia holds a bachelor’s degree in European Studies and International Relations from Maastricht University, where she specialised in Globalisation and Sustainable Development. She furthered her education with a double master’s degree in Economics and International Policies, concentrating on energy and climate policy and focusing on key EU legislations such as the REPowerEU Package, the ETS and carbon management policy.
Sofia's academic background is complemented by her participation in an intensive course at the Eastwest European Institute in Brussels, where she deepened her institutional knowledge and gained practical experience in EU policy analysis, legislative procedures and political negotiations. This experience has allowed her to apply her academic insights to real-world scenarios.
Sofia is fluent in English and Italian, with a good command of Spanish.
