Peter Vis joins Rud Pedersen as Senior Advisor to advise on European Green Deal
After over two decades in the European Commission, Peter Vis has joined Rud Pedersen Public Affairs in Brussels as a Senior Advisor. Peter will help advise the growing consultancy’s client base in Brussels and across Europe.
Peter is a leading figure on European climate, energy and mobility policy. In the course of his career at the European Commission, he helped develop the direction of EU climate policy. He played a key role in the creation of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the last Commission’s Low Emissions Mobility Strategy. He led the Cabinet of Connie Hedegaard in her role as Climate Action Commissioner, served in the Cabinet of Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs and, more recently, held roles at DG MOVE and in the Commission President’s think-tank, the European Political Strategy Centre. In recent weeks, as part of his continued work in the field, he released a book on EU climate policy with former Director General of DG Climate Action Jos Delbeke entitled “Towards a Climate-Neutral Europe”.
Peter said “I’m looking forward to working with the Rud Pedersen team to help its clients make a positive contribution to Europe’s transition to a climate-neutral economy. With the European Green Deal due to be announced in coming days, it’s an exciting time to start work advising those who want to be part of economy-wide change.”
Brussels Managing Partner, James Stevens, said “We’re delighted that our clients will have access to the insights of someone who has helped Europe become a climate policy leader. In a relatively short time, our office has already developed a reputation as a leading consultancy for industrials and energy clients in the market. Peter’s expertise will be essential for many of our clients as they look to understand the direction of the new EU institutions and their ambitious policies.”
