Renato comes to Rud Pedersen from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he focused on boosting the joint partnership between EBRD and the EU institutions, including cooperating with the European Commission and national governments from Poland and the Baltics to Greece and South-Eastern Europe on the design and deployment of EBRD financing and EU funding for the benefit of private and public sector clients.

Renato previously worked for the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as well as top tier consulting firms PwC, FleishmanHillardEU and Oxford Analytica. An Italian national and a Harvard Kennedy School, Sciences Po Paris and Catholic University of Milan Alumnus, Renato is a thought-leader having published academic papers, journal articles and op-eds on issues of European political economy and finance with the LSE European Institute and Harvard Growth Lab. Finally, Renato is an occasional Visiting Lecturer in European universities (Brunel, UCSC-ASERI) and is fluent in English, French and Italian with a working knowledge of Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys riding a surfboard, skiing, hiking, cross-fit and the occasional half-marathon to discover European cities from a different perspective.
