Pål Arne Davidsen comes from the position as senior adviser in the Section for Private Sector Development, Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) where he advised Norwegian and foreign companies on doing business in developing countries. His portfolio included, among other areas, environmental technology, renewable and non-renewable energy as well as information & communication technology. Before joining Norad, Pål Arne held various positions as political adviser on foreign policy, energy and environment for the Progress Party in the Norwegian Parliament.
Pål Arne has a strong academic track record, and is a well sought after speaker at international conferences. He is also co-author of several international books and reports dealing with development policy, security and energy. He holds and MA in Comparative Politics from the University of Bergen and from the University of Cape Town.
Dr. Werner Christie was the first Minister of Health of Norway in Prime Minister Brundtland’s Cabinet (1992-1995), and former chair of the Biotechnology Advisory Board of Norway and WHO’s Stop TB public private partnership. Werner is a Medical Doctor also educated in Social Science. He also has more than 13 years’ experience as a part-time farmer.
Christie was Science and Technology Counsellor (2004-2009) for the Royal Norwegian Embassy, Beijing, where his work was mainly focused on energy, environment, building, medical, marine and bio- science and technologies as well as welfare and health reform issues. He was Chairman of PA International’s China operations (2008-2010). He is now Strategic Advisor and Associate Professor at The Norwegian Business School BI, Corporate dept., and lectures in management and innovation as well as public health at the Norwegian Business School BI, Gjøvik University College and Hedmark University College and internationally, as well as serving on various boards.
